We are on the lookout for a motivated, proactive and collaborative Process Engineer to join our Paper and Pulp team based at our Smithfield plant.
Our Paper and Pulp division is where the magic begins in the world of sustainability, creating recycled paper and recycled products. Ideally you have experience working in a fast paced Manufacturing, FMCG or highly processed environment where continuous improvement and lean manufacturing is a normal part of your every day.
You are passionate about finding solutions and supporting the greater team with your creative thinking, analytical skills, technical support and your exposure to good process control systems, will make you excited about learning something new and sharing your insights with the team.
This is a full time Monday to Friday role working 7.30am to 4.30pm and to assist the team you will be on call every 5 weeks.
Your Typical Day
Process and control optimisation of board paper manufacture
Develop improvement projects to achieve OEE targets
Lead energy optimisation initiatives and projects
Key technical support for new grade development
Monitor chemical variable costs
Initiate and manage machine and chemical trials
Manage small to medium size capital projects
Promote safe work practices and processes
What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Science or equivalent
2-3 years minimum Process Engineer experience
Previous experience working in the Paper and Pulp industry, Petro chemical, FMCG, Manufacturing (desirable)
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Previous exposure to good process control systems (ABB advantageous)
High level of IT skills
Self-motivated with energy and a positive mindset
Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and able to find the root cause
Ability to collaborate and work with a highly productive team
Organised and task orientated
Able to work in a hot environment with stairs and confined spaces
Team player with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
Excellent work ethic and driven to succeed to get the job done
