Reporting to the General Manager – Visy Board NSW, this role will have multi-site responsibility and be based across the Smithfield and Warwick Farm sites in NSW. This pivotal role involves leading and managing our Health, Safety, and Environment programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing expertise in the management of business risks, engaging and coaching leaders and employees in order to drive a culture of safety and sustainability across our operations.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of the state HSE Strategy.
  • Develop and execute HSE training programs to ensure all employees are adequately trained in safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate incidents to determine the root cause and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and promote the organization's HSE initiatives.
  • Engage people at all levels in the business, coaching and challenging behaviours to achieve a high level of safety compliance and performance.
  • Development of HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS.
  • Experience in a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) or related role in the manufacturing/ supply chain industry.
  • Knowledge of HSE management system, hazard & risk management, HSE audits, incident investigation, management of change, HSE training, crisis & emergency management protocols & ISO Standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
