About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Fleet Supervisor to join our Visy Logistics Linehaul division in Gillman. In this fast‑paced role, you’ll coordinate freight movements, optimise load planning, and work closely with internal teams and external customers while building strong relationships across our driving team. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional operational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and customer expectations in a demanding environment.
You will oversee a team of 10 drivers, manage stakeholder relationships, and apply transport expertise to optimise fleet efficiency. Strong financial acumen is essential for managing operational costs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you’ll do:
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure timely and accurate scheduling and allocation of daily fleet operations
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders, customers, and drivers
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers regarding planning, runs, and delays
- Conduct proactive assessments to identify opportunities for operational efficiency
- Manage and monitor payroll, driver’s performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing
- Plan and optimise load distribution using strong analytical and resource planning skills
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue margins and cost accountability
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a Fleet Supervisor or Allocator role within transport & logistics
- Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation
- SAP, MT DATA, WMS & TMS knowledge is desirable
- Prior finance & cost management experience
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience
- Ability to build strong relationships internal and externally
