Role details:
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Gepps Cross Board Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a rotating day / afternoon roster:
- 1 week Day Shift: Monday – Friday 6am – 4pm
- 1 week Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday 4pm – 4am
- Daily overtime applies after first 8 hours, RDO accrued monthly and Saturday’s available at penalty rates
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.
- Perform mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
- Use CMMS system MEX for maintenance tracking and job management.
- Repair to parts through machining and welding.
- Diagnose faults and problem‑solve independently.
- Collaborate with the electrical team during maintenance and breakdown work.
- Working with the production team to resolve issues with minimal downtime.
- Contribute to project work, including installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.
What you’ll bring:
- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
- B class or D class electrical licence is beneficial
- Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments
- Skills in machining and basic welding ideal
- Ability to think outside the box when resolving breakdowns and working autonomously
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety
