About the role
The Wastewater Treatment Technician will focus on Wastewater treatment plant operation regarding plant performance drive, effluent quality improvement, continuous biogas production, and cost reduction activities at our Smithfield, NSW mill.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Process optimization, troubleshooting and problem solving for wastewater treatment plant
- Perform improvement project activities from process analysis through implementation and evaluation e.g. cost saving, process reliability, and safety
- Wastewater treatment chemical management
- Maintain conditions of wastewater treatment plant’s equipment to keep plant’s performance and safe working environment
- In charge of wastewater treatment operation cost control and wastewater testing
- Plan, liaise and execute maintenance activities based on criticality
- Ensure compliance of HSE of activities to company’s policy
What you’ll bring to the team
- Diploma / bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or environmental engineering
- 1-2 years of work experience in wastewater treatment plant operation or industrial engineering
- Forklift license
- Anaerobic Reactor Operation working knowledge and/or experience
- Wastewater Treatment Lab knowledge
- DCS Operation (Distributed Control System)
- PLC Operation (Programmable Logic Controller)
