Ready to put your electrical trade to the test on some of Australia’s most advanced manufacturing equipment? Join the team at Visy Pulp & Paper Smithfield where you won’t just be fixing faults - you’ll be driving reliability, improving systems, and working alongside some of the best trades in the business. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift, starting at either 6am or 7am and working 40 hours a week.
What you’ll do:
You’ll work across a range of electrical maintenance and fault-finding tasks in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You’ll support critical plant equipment including motors, drives, conveyors, process lines, and automation systems — the heartbeat of Visy’s Smithfield operation.
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on electrical and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults on motors, variable speed drives, and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Drive process reliability and improvement initiatives within your team and across the plant.
- Collaborate with mechanical and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient performance.
- Delegate tasks to your team, such as installation, testing, and upgrades of new and existing equipment.
- Accurately log and review maintenance work and notifications in SAP
What You’ll Bring:
- Electrical trade qualification and current NSW licence (Supervisor ideal).
- Supervisor or Team lead experience ideal, but open to someone ready to take the next step in their career.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, within a fast paced and automated process.
- Confident working with PLC systems (Rockwell and GE).
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair capability on AC/DC drives and control systems.
- Experience with instrumentation and automation highly regarded.
- A safety-first mindset, good communication skills, and pride in quality workmanship.
