The opportunity:
As the Plant Electrician reporting to the Electrical and Process Control Manager, you will work in a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3.30pm at our Visy Glass, Penrose Site. In this diverse and varied role, you will work closely with maintenance and production operations teams to lead initiatives in reducing plant downtime by conducting preventative maintenance activities, breakdown repairs, and providing general electrical maintenance as required throughout the plant. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting, inspections and attending to repairs and breakdowns.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and electrical servicing of plant equipment.
- Support job changes setup and maintenance.
- Support process reliability and improvement initiatives across the plant, and work on projects as required.
- Maintain awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, quality and environmental standards.

What you will bring to the team:
A minimum of 2 years post-trade experience as an Electrician, gained from working in an industrial, FMCG, or continuous process manufacturing environment, you’ll have an exceptional ability for fault finding and diagnostics, with the ability to work under urgency and pressure while maintaining high standards. You will also have:
- Electrical Trade qualification, EWRB registered and hold a Full NZ Electrical Trade License.
- An ability to read electrical schematic is essential and high voltage switching experience is desirable.
- Experience in Electrical and Electronics fault-finding (with Printed Circuit Boards, PLC’s and Motor Controls)
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
- A team player with a proactive mindset and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
