Commercial Logistics Analyst NZ

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Visy Logistics NZ, working with all teams to provide value-added solutions to customers and operations.  Provide quality commercial reporting data, analysis, and decision support, as well as ensuring data integrity and that data input is consistent, of high quality, and accurate.      

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Analyse customer margins and support profitable contract outcomes.
  • Deliver regular reporting on rate utilisation and freight volumes.
  • Develop pricing proposals and maintain pricing models.
  • Lead annual rate reviews and ensure accurate system updates.
  • Manage fuel levy application and communication across business units.
  • Support budgeting with freight rate and fuel levy data; track performance to targets.
  • Drive process improvements and uphold governance standards.
  • Maintain master data accuracy and support data governance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Site Management to improve reporting and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Degree in Commerce, Business, Logistics, or related field
  • Advanced skills in analysing complex data, developing models, and providing insights
  • Experience in contract management
  • Developing and monitoring organisational KPIs
  • Exposure to a similar analyst role partnering with Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Advanced system and Excel skills
  • Warehouse experience
  • International Freight forwarding experience preferred
  • Budget planning and financial reporting
  • Experience in Tender processes
  • Experience in capital expenditure request preparation
