Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations – predominantly in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles, and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.
Role Details:
The Commercial Business Analyst – Glass is a key strategic support role within the Visy Glass commercial team, responsible for delivering accurate and timely analysis that underpins pricing, profitability, and customer decision-making across the Australia and New Zealand operations.
The opportunity:
Based in Southbank in a hybrid working model, this role works closely with Sales, Finance, Operations and Customer Service. The analyst provides insightful margin and commercial performance reporting, cost-based modelling, and new product development (NPD) pricing. The position also oversees the application of quarterly inflation indices, incorporating input variables such as soda ash, cullet, sand, energy, labour and CPI into customer pricing in line with contract terms.
Key responsibilities include:
· Commercial & Financial Analysis: Lead margin analysis and profitability modelling, and evaluate price changes and product mix.
· Pricing Strategy & Execution: Support pricing strategies and updates, and develop cost-effective proposals.
· Reporting & Insights: Create executive-level dashboards and reports to surface performance trends, risks, and commercial opportunities.
· Contract & Governance Support: Ensure pricing and contract compliance and maintain data in SAP and Salesforce.
· System & Process Improvement: Improve data management and reporting, and support system testing and training.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations, and advise during negotiations and reviews.
What you will bring to the team:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a commercial, financial or business analyst role
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or similar
- Demonstrated experience supporting pricing, margin and/or sales analysis within a complex business environment
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems, specifically SAP and Salesforce
- Packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG industry experience
- Exposure to customer contract lifecycle management and governance frameworks
- Strong track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to drive commercial outcomes
- High proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools
