Job Title: Financial Controller – Visy Food Can
Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations – predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals from households and businesses and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.
Role details:
The Financial Controller – Visy Food Can is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Food Can division. Leading the Food Can Finance Team managing financial performance across Victorian Food Can Manufacturing sites, this role is responsible for financial governance, decision support, and driving profitability across multiple manufacturing sites.
What you'll do:
As a key member of the Food Can Leadership Team, this role provides financial insights to support operational and commercial objectives, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and process optimisation. Reporting to the GM Finance – Primary Packaging, with a dotted line to the GM – Visy Food Can, the Financial Controller will act as a key business partner, identifying financial risks and opportunities while championing automation, process simplification, and value creation.
What you will bring to the team:
- 7-10 years' experience in financial leadership, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and forecasting experience.
- Commercial finance experience, including revenue management and margin expansion experience in B2B businesses
- Experience managing multi-site financial operations.
- Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and financial reporting systems.
- Experience applying Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies in finance.
- Experience in capital investment and financial modelling.
- Strong working knowledge of cost accounting, product costing, and inventory management.
