Role Details:

As a Technical Manager in VISY's Packsize division, you'll lead innovative packaging automation projects while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Group Solutions Manager, you will oversee the build and installation of systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing tailored solutions. This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement and contribute to cutting-edge packaging innovations.

As a Technical Manager you will develop integration solutions, coordinating applications across the customer’s enterprise or its units/departments. You will also evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs and be directly responsible for the diagnosis, configuration, deployment and support of Packsize during all steps of the sales and implementation cycles. This person will act as a critical link between customer, implementation teams and product development teams and will be familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures of Warehouse Management Systems. The Software Solution Engineer relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. You will also work hand in hand with the customer, during the diagnostic phase to understand their challenges, design a solution and hand off to Software Integration Engineers for implementation.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of integrated packaging systems.
  • Supervise technical teams during project build and installation phases, ensuring systems are installed and operational to the highest standards.
  • Develop and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including industrial networks and detailed circuit design.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian safety standards, conducting risk assessments and maintaining up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Provide on-site technical support for system troubleshooting and client training.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, key clients, and suppliers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

What You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field is required, advanced degrees preferred.
  • Prior experience integrating and implementing cross platform software solutions preferred.
  • Prior experience with networking/I.T. systems preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, WMS, or CRM systems preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in providing on-site technical support and training for automated systems.
