The opportunity:
Visy is a beverage can expert with a thirst for creating new packaging solutions for our customers. We produce a significant amount of beverage cans every year. Many of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised beverage brands are delivered in cans we make.
Our highly automated site located in Smithfield blends state-of-the-art technology with proven, time-tested machinery. This unique mix will provide the successful applicant with a variety of work, leveraging the best of both worlds.
As a Toolmaker, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Maintain and repair machinery and tools used in the production of beverage cans.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the production team to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
What you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment, coupled with relevant qualifications
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, tools & equipment, and to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot
