The Role;
As Production Manager the main objective is to lead and manage the total Production of the Visy Specialties Kilsyth manufacturing facility.
The role will be responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of the operations including safety, factory personnel, industrial relations and HR, process management, productivity, technical, maintenance and improvement along with convert cost responsibility, payroll and KPI reporting.
The role has six main areas of responsibility:
1. Management of site HSE and Compliance on the factory floor
2. Management & co-ordination of the entire manufacturing process
3. Management of Operational aspects of P&L
4. Management of all Quality aspects and Technical interaction
5. Management of Operational services to the end customer
6. Management of site staff HR and industrial relations matters.
Duties:
• Manage production and corrugated process, overseeing personnel and ensuring compliance with management system documentation (HACCP, Safety & Quality).
• Maintain quality systems and controls, meeting daily, monthly volume targets efficiently.
• Optimise raw materials levels (paper, Starch) and achieve productivity targets while minimizing waste.
• Provide accurate KPI and management reporting aligned with national guidelines.
• Ensure a safe working environment, investigating hazards/incidents promptly and participating in HSE committees.
• Implement company and site compliance policies, enforcing safety management systems.
• Conduct regular safety talks, observations, and KPI reporting, addressing Work Injury Management matters.
• Coordinate all aspects of the manufacturing process.
What you will bring to the team:
- Manufacturing/Production industry experience (Corrugate board industry highly desirable)
- Experience in dealing with industrial relations matters
- Computer systems / Microsoft suite
- Process Management and KPI reporting
- Quality systems and process
- Commercial acumen
- Industrial laws and regulations
- Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing
- Leadership and Management with a strong background in operations Manufacturing management experience
- Stakeholder management internal/external
- Analytical, Process and Continuous Improvement focused (Lean)
