The Opportunity:
Based at Essendon Fields, the Distribution Planner will be responsible for planning the distribution of paper to ensure inventory is maintained within agreed levels, in the right location at the correct time, mitigating any risks to supply.
The Role:
Reporting to the National Distribution Manager, your key outcomes will be to;
- Maintain inventory levels within the min/max range (per SKU and per Customer plant/operations/location) with the aim of zero stockouts.
- Manage replenishment paper loads to meet demand and identify any inventory risks relating to distribution and production well in advance to maintain reliable supply.
- Managing container planning requirements to ensure customer orders are packed in full to meet the vessel cut off.
- Ensure safe operations across the business unit in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Identify future stockouts based on Daily consumption and projected stock forecasts.
- Liaising with the Supply Planner and directly with customers to ensure we schedule to prevent potential stock-outs or to agree on alternative substitutes where necessary.
- Liaise with the Demand Manager to ensure accurate forecast and a correct set up of MIN-MAX inventory levels for the customers.
- Liaise with Logistics partners to ensure customer orders are being distributed on-time, including the need for shipments to be packed in full to meet the vessel cut off.
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience within shipping / inventory planning / replenishment / allocation is desirable.
- Inventory experience from within a multi warehouse and production environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience using Millwide (or similar WMS) for inventory and stock replenishment management purposes – very highly regarded, SAP
- Strong drive and desire to dive into the detail and resolve issues with a can do attitude.
