The Opportunity
Visy Glass, part of the wider Visy Group, is hiring a Resort Operator to be based in Penrose, Auckland. You will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern, Monday – Friday, i.e. 2 weeks on day shift, 2 weeks on night shift, 2 weeks on afternoon shift.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating the resort line including the palletiser / depalletiser.
- Tipping defective pallets of glass.
- Manual handling and rework of glass.
- Moving finished goods; using a forklift (only applicable if licensed).
- Recording product movements using RF Scanners.
- Accurate record keeping/input of data for traceability purposes.
- General housekeeping.
What you will bring to the team
- A positive and can-do attitude.
- A reliable and safety conscious person who enjoys working within a strong team of operators.
- Experience working within a manufacturing/industrial environment is essential.
- Enjoys learning and developing new skills as growth opportunities.
- Glass handling experience in machine operation and a forklift license is highly regarded however both are not essential.
- You will have a demonstrated commitment to safety and have strong communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP is beneficial.
