The opportunity:
Based at Laverton, Victoria, the Maintenance Fitter for Afternoon shift will be responsible for OHS&E of employees, contractors and visitors and demonstrating appropriate Safety behaviours and achieving Operational KPI’s and budget targets as set.
The Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your key outcomes will be to;
- Carry out mechanical repairs to equipment and facilities as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
- Utilise the site Computerised maintenance management system to record work history and enter follow up work requests
- Provide coordination of internal and external resources for mechanical maintenance or capital projects as directed by Supervisor
- Be compliant and participate in safe work process such as stop and thinks, JSEA creation, SWP development, hazard reporting, safety interaction talks, standard maintenance work development, toolbox discussions
- Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping through the application of 5S practices
- Perform preventative and reactive type mechanical maintenance work on plant and equipment to ensure that it is safe to operate, available for operation when required and meets all regulatory/compliance requirements
- Perform incidental and breakdown mechanical type maintenance work as required
- Utilise the site Asset Management System “IFS” to create fault orders and record work history
- Ensure that all appropriate documentation is completed for the relative activities that are performed
- Actively participate in all lean manufacturing/maintenance activities such as PM development, spare parts management, improvement projects
- Work with site personnel to achieve required quality of production outputs
- Contribute to site compliance through best practice maintenance techniques
- Competitive rates $47 per hour + 15% shift loading
What you will bring to the team:
- Trade Qualification in Mechanical Fitting/Boiler Maker/Fitter and Turner
- Work experience maintaining comparable plant and equipment within a fast past working environment
- Work experience within a process manufacturing environment team
- Demonstrated skills in the required trade disciplines
- Understanding and working knowledge of process control logic, i.e. PLCs, motor control
- Hydraulic system exposure and efficient fault finding skills
- Rigger Certificate an advantage or willingness to get a Riggers Certificate
