We currently have a rare and exciting opportunity for a proactive, experienced and passionate Operations Manager to manage, support and empower our talented Visy Plastics team at two Sites situated in Ingleburn.
You love to lead by example and are outcome oriented with a 'can do' attitude. Your flexible and enthusiastic approach will ensure strong leadership and motivation. To be successful, you will have recent management experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment with exposure to driving change.
Reporting to the General Manager, you describe yourself as a dynamic leader who is ready to roll up their sleeves to get dirty while keeping productivity at its peak. You are safety focused and analytical, with a proven ability to collaboratively lead a team through change management, within a manufacturing environment. You promote and support a continuous improvement culture that fosters results, systems thinking, accountability, professionalism and energy that will ensure your team grow from strength to strength, whilst keeping the business profitable.
Your key areas you will be responsible for include (but not limited to):
Managing and proactively promoting a safe working environment for all employees including overseeing all compliance and safety initiatives (HACCP, Safety & Quality)
Developing and growing your direct reports to be effective leaders
Engage your team to take the journey towards a positive cultural change to uphold Visy’s vision and values
Leadership and coordination of the entire manufacturing process, ensuring all products are made to the highest quality whilst achieving (or exceeding) productivity and output KPI’s
Managing, achieving set budgets and cost management of daily/weekly/monthly costs
Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
What you will bring to the team:
Relevant leadership experience in an Operations or Production/Manufacturing Supervisor role (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Processing industries)
Relevant tertiary and/or trades qualification (desirable)
Experienced in leading teams through change and fostering a highly engaged and productive team including performance management
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on safety, continuous improvement/lean manufacturing and quality systems
Excellent communication skills and able to build strong relationships
Strong P&L experience and commercial acumen to look at ways to sustain and increase business profitability
Hands on leader who is self-motivated with energy, passion and a positive mindset
A collaborative approach and being open to doing things a little bit differently
Analytical and strategic mindset with high attention to detail and finding solutions
Excellent work ethic and dedicated to succeed to get the job done
