The Role
Visy Recycling based in Gibson Island is seeking a Management Accountant to support centrally managed accounting processes, planning, reporting, and analysis activities. This includes monthly reporting, mid‑month forecasts, business analysis, and contributing to the annual budget cycle.
This is an 18‑month paternal leave contract role, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the performance of a major division while gaining exposure to complex, large‑scale operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing mid‑month estimate and month‑end close tasks
- Preparing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly management reports
- Preparing and analysing financial results, forecasts, and annual budgets
- Ensuring ledgers comply with corporate policies and accounting standards
- Reviewing balance sheets, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions
- Conducting variance analysis and recommending cost optimisation initiatives
- Supporting month‑end and year‑end processes and broader finance projects
What You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or CA/CPA qualified
- Proven experience in management accounting, ideally in manufacturing or recycling
- Proficiency in SAP and consolidation/reporting tools (Hyperion desirable)
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to accuracy and problem‑solving
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment
- Advanced Excel capability
