About the Opportunity:
Our new state of the art Glass factory in Yatala represents the large investment we have ever made where we will recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. With the latest in advanced machinery and control systems, we produce high-quality glass products efficiently and consistently. As we are located next to our box factory and beverage can plants, we will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and create a range of new career pathways for our staff.
What you will do:
As a key player in our Packaging Centre, you will ensure that our packaging systems operate efficiently while maintaining safety compliance and product quality.
A key aspect of the position is ensuring all packaging equipment, including palletisers, conveyor systems, Automatic Guided Vehicles, pallet ticket label applicators and strapping and wrapping machinery, operates effectively to meet production and quality targets.
- Rotating Shift: 8-hour shifts that includes two consecutive weekends off every five weeks
- Full Training provided through the Visy Training Academy
- Starting rate from $40 per hour (Plus OT and Shift Allowance) onwards

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and adjust automated packaging machines.
- Monitor equipment and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Manage the movement of pallets via Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and address disruptions in the flow of finished product.
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to optimise processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Follow all safety and environmental protocols
What you will bring to the team:
- Previous experience in packaging operations, preferably in an automated environment.
- Good understanding of packaging equipment and machinery (e.g., palletisers, conveyors, automated systems).
- A strong safety mindset and a proactive safety mindset
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on product inspection and defect identification.
- Someone who’s proactive and always looking for ways to improve processes
