Visy is a beverage can expert with a thirst for creating new packaging solutions for our customers. We produce a significant amount of beverage cans every year - last year we produced multi-billion aluminum cans. Many of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised beverage brands are delivered in cans we make.
This position is critical in ensuring electrical manufacturing & ancillary equipment maintenance practices are retained/improved whilst engaging in continuous performance improvements at the Clayton Plant.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving preventative maintenance programs.
Further to this, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Ensure design of machinery is safe and maintenance to machinery is affected in a safe and efficient manner.
Be responsible for managing the electrical aspects of the manufacturing systems within the plant.
Prioritise jobs in conjunction with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
Provide electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on strategic plans and projects.
Plan and organise contractors and work during maintenance shutdown periods.
Manage the implementation of new equipment and projects with OEM suppliers.
Manage engineering teams and other electrical engineering staff members.
Assist with allocation, budgeting, resource planning and scheduling.
Be proficient in the use of RS Logix PLC’s including Family 5, 500 and Studio Logix 5000.
Occasionally provide breakdown support to plant as required.
Knowledge of Factory Talk View and Panel View Plus programming would be advantageous.
Control and stock take spare parts and stocks of electrical products
. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
What you will bring to the team:
Hold a current and full trade certificate in the electrical field with ability to interpret drawings
Victorian A-grade electrical license
Industry experience within a heavy manufacturing or processing environment.
Commitment to a ZERO harm culture within a heavy industrial environment
Excellent understanding of electrical standards and strong fault-finding ability
Understand and ensure work complies with controlled documents, and complete and maintain quality records when required by procedural documentation.
Understand the Environmental policy and adhere to the EMS and Environmental procedures that are relevant to the activities carried out.
