Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an Area Reliability and Maintenance Manager who is proactive, collaborative, highly organised and an empowering people leader who can see the bigger picture to identify, develop and implement the bigger engineering strategy to minimise downtime and improve efficiencies - ensuring we go from strength to strength. This is a great opportunity to live and work regionally and to be part of our World Class Kraft Paper Mill in Tumut NSW.
Reporting to the Reliability and Maintenance Manager, you are hands on with seven direct reports comprising of mechanical and maintenance personnel, including engineers and trades and your key responsibility is to lead and manage the mechanical reliability and maintenance for the paper machines, RCF and chemical areas.
You strive to meet challenges, are confident, well-rounded people leader who is strong in the performance management and development of your team whilst juggling multiple tasks and projects. Ideally your background includes being responsible for the mechanical reliability and preventative/predictive maintenance within a 24/7 fast paced manufacturing/paper mill environment and takes ownership and accountability for everything you do.
Essential to your success will be maintaining a strong working relationship with production departments to collaboratively ensure plant safety, quality and production performance outcomes are achieved. Additionally, you will manage capital projects, project management and be responsible for compliance with appropriate statutory requirements, plan for shutdowns, ensure resources/spare parts are available, continuous improvement, asset management and capex budget sit with you!
Tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineer
5 years + managerial reliability engineering experience within a heavy Industrial Manufacturing Environment including Glass, Paper, Steel, Oil and Gas (highly regarded)
You will be a leader of leaders with excellent collaboration, maintenance, resource-planning skills and most importantly, hold safety above all else.
Excellent communication and influencing skills to collaborate and engage with internal/external stakeholders
High level of attention to detail, ability to organise and analyse information and prepare reports
Ability to work under pressure, proactive with problem solving and able to make quick decisions
Team focused with Lean Manufacturing, mechanical and continuous improvement mindset including root cause analysis to improve process and build a constructive culture
Ideally, you will have experience with CMMS systems and be familiar with the relevant manufacturing and OH&S legislation
Flexible and able to work on call and after hours where required to meet operational requirements.
