We currently have a new opportunity for a Shift Manager to manage the operational production and lead one of our high performing and fast paced Carole Park production teams. You love to be hands on, thrive under pressure, with a thirst for learning and finding new ways to continuously improve process’ to increase productivity, output and your team’s engagement.
You will ideally come from a production or processing environment where safety, quality, uptime, labour cost management and ongoing training and development of your team is a normal part of your day. You will be the go to person to proactively source solutions with a continuous improvement mindset. You are flexible and resilient with a high sense of urgency and are customer centric in all that you do!
Reporting to the Production Manager you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Initiating and driving a safe workplace including ensuring you and your team follow safety policies and regulations
Maintaining schedule of production to ensure on –time delivery to despatch
Leading cultural change and actively developing/upskilling your team including identifying any cross training or development opportunities
Improving operational performance (eg. quality, waste reduction and throughput);
Ensuring all manning levels, resources and tools are available for your team to meet production targets
Developing improvement processes and ensure established processes are maintained to meet compliance and quality targets
Communicating with all stakeholders fostering a proactive working culture/high employee morale.
What you will bring to the team:
2-3 years’ minimum experience in a leadership role within a Production Manager/Shift Manager/Supervisor role (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Packaging industries)
Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (advantageous)
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (highly regarded)
Flexible and adaptable to work hours outside of your set times to ensure the best outcome when required
Strong organisation, attention to detail and able to think on your feet
High communications skills to manage both internal and external relationships to drive DIFOT outcomes for our customers
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on safety, quality, customer service and innovation
Good with reporting to increase and sustain the business’s profitability
