The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day breakdown, preventative maintenance, and project activities of our O'Connor Board plant.
Managing the Maintenance Department of 6 direct reports, you will ensure safe operations in accordance with Visy’s policies and procedures, and pro-actively review plant maintenance with a focus on reliability and efficiency improvements.
Your strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure will suit this fast paced environment. And your ability to lead by example, and passion to develop your team will fit right in.
Your challenges:
Achieve cultural, and procedural changes within an existing established team.
Review and improve on existing preventative maintenance schedules.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify “root causes” of problems or events and an approach for responding to them.
Making continuous improvements - including equipment upgrades and improved efficiency.
Your areas of responsibility:
Site HSE and Compliance of the Engineering & Maintenance Department.
Plant Maintenance practices for the entire site.
Assisting in setting & achieving budgets.
Leadership, direction & support of maintenance team and ensuring appropriate resources/skills are available.
Your outcomes:
Transition from a reactive maintenance to proactive maintenance approach.
Increase communication and collaboration between the Maintenance and Production teams.
Increase production quality and quantity, reduce downtime and waste.
Qualifications
Trade or Engineering qualification.
What you will bring to the team:
Industry experience in high speed manufacturing environment e.g. Packaging/FMCG preferred
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies, and their implementation.
High level of self-motivation, you are not afraid of a challenge and being accountable.
Ability to communicate and build rapport with personnel at all levels.
Consultative approach to managing staff.
